Next in Cue is a podcast project by people with disabilities for everyone. It aims to promote, encourage and motivate young people with a disability in the areas of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation. Next in Cue is a creative, safe space to produce and share stories and experiences across key areas.

The initiative is funded by the Australian Government, through the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

Next in Cue provides opportunities for young people with disabilities to develop skills across the full podcasting process. KNLC has set up professional grade studios with audio and editing technology and equipment. Participants have received training from industry professionals with expertise in audio engineering, radio, voice coaching and music. The trainees are involved in every stage of production, including creative development, planning, storytelling, recording, editing and marketing. The podcast is a creative platform to amplify the voices and lived experiences of people with disabilities within mainstream media.

As Project Coordinator Christine Wallis notes,

“Next in Cue started with the aim to produce podcasts by people with a disability for people with a disability but really, it’s for everyone to listen to and be inspired. ”
